"Gypsy Thread" is a great classic in close-up magic. A length of sewing thread is broken into many small pieces. The whole thing is rolled together, forming a small ball of thread. The ball is now unrolled and you are left with only one length of thread, the broken thread is completely restored. And the icing on the cake: you can hand out the thread as a souvenir, which will allow the spectator to examine it more closely!  

Basic technique: Named after its inventor Alex Elmsley, this count allows you to count 4 cards, but hide one of them. It is the most commonly used false count.

The spectator chooses a card under laboratory conditions and turns it face down in the middle of the deck, which is face up. The magician takes a second deck that had been set aside in full view of the audience before starting. A card is turned over in the deck... it is the same as the spectator's! A true miracle!
