Jeff McBride

Jeff McBride

Born on September 11, 1959 in Goshen, New York, Jeff McBride is an American magician, creator, innovator, lecturer and teacher.

He specializes in the manipulation of playing cards, coins and other small objects.

His shows are inspired by elements of Kabuki, a form of Japanese theater. He is also known for his contribution to Bizarre Magic.

From the age of 8, he became interested in magic by reading a magic book.

He was influenced by manipulators such as Richard Ross and Jeff Sheridan, as well as artists like Alice Cooper and David Bowie, who had a major impact on his performing style.

Some of his mentors were Cardini, Frank Garcia, Harry Lorayne, Jeff Sheridan, Jackie Flosso and Slydini.

Then he met Eugene Burger, who was his teacher and who inspired and enlightened him with his philosophy of magic.

His philosophy of magic is that he is a magician 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

His first appearance on national television was in 1973. In 1975, he made his first international tour to Japan.

He performed street magic in Miami, Orlando and New York.

His performances blended magic, theater, juggling and fire eating. His unique combination of masks, mime, mythic storytelling and world-class manipulation earned him widespread recognition as a leading innovator and one of the most exciting artists in contemporary magic.

He later incorporated masks inspired by Japanese theatrical art (which also includes the art of mime), pantomime and martial arts into his shows. He then launched his own magic show: "Mask, Myth & Magic".

Jeff went on to appear on stages in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Japan... He also worked with great artists such as Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Criss Angel... and many others!

McBride founded the Magic and Mystery School in 1991, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious magic school in the world. He has also participated in numerous conventions.

He "fooled" Penn & Teller on their TV show "Fool Us".

He helped found the S.A.M. Cardini assembly #147 in Middletown, New York.

He has been honored by The Academy of Magical Arts (Magician of the Year), the Society of American Magicians, and the International Federation of Magic Societies, and three times by The International Grand Prix of Magic in Monte Carlo.

He has also obtained several Guinness World Records.

He performs all over the world and has produced several books and instructional videos on coin and card manipulation. He is also a creative magic consultant and lecturer.
