Peter Din

Born on the Day of the Dead, undoubtedly out of a spirit of contradiction. It was under the sign of the scorpion, characteristic of many artists, that he entered the stage of life for the first time. After a 7-year hiatus, he discovered a curious box full of dreams and magic at the foot of his Christmas tree. At the bottom of the box were ten years of passion and solitary work with silks, cards and balls at his fingertips. But it was the “Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique” that opened its doors to him, propelling him onto the stage in the shoes of Molière's servants or Musset's heroes. For a time, magic was put aside in favor of the great texts of the theatre. But the "Queen of the Arts" does not forget those she has touched with the tip of her wand. One January 1st, in a certain year long ago, it was in the guise of a magician that he left his Harlequin cloak for a time - he thought. For the next 8 years, the music hall was to be his constant companion, as he created a sleight-of-hand act using doves and cards and gave life to a mischievous little dog named Bobby, who would never leave his side. From being a sleight-of-hand magician, he became a magician-ventriloquist, performing in galas and cabarets. But the theater was always in the back of his mind, and he had good memories of it. Actor, magician and ventriloquist, his three hats were no longer enough for him, and he became an author and stage director, as well as an opera singer from time to time - no doubt in memory of his years as a chorister - writing a musical for children, "Maxime, Le rêve Magicien", in which he was able to exploit all his passions. Then, a taste for travel and a desire to see the world took him on board cruise ships for 20 happy years. Back on land, fiercely refusing to make a choice, he divided his time between magic for children, writing books (“La Grande Magie des Tout Petits” – “L'Atelier de Magie sans Larmes”) and presenting lectures on the subject, directing, and of course performing his shows. In 2018, he created a show for babies, which was presented in nurseries and during which he sought to stimulate the "magical emotions" of the very young (from the age of nine months). These first performances marked not the end, but the beginning of an experiment that has been underway for over 5 years with early childhood educators and professionals, and which has now reached a new stage, with the release of his latest book and his lectures "Bébé Magie" and "L'ultime Conférence". At the same time, in 2007 he became President of the F.F.A.P. and in 2011, at the end of his mandate, he was elected Vice-President of F.I.S.M., where he remains to this day. He is a qualified FISM judge and has served on the jury of numerous national and international conventions. In 2024, he joined the Double Fond diploma training team, teaching several training modules. As you can see, Peter Din is passionate, always busy, and obsessive. His favorite phrase is: "Knowledge is a discovery, and Discovery is a never-ending journey towards knowledge and open-mindedness."
