The magician takes the Ace, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Spades from the deck. One by one, each of these cards, placed in the center of the packet, magically rises to the top of the packet. The last one, the 5 of Spades, turns into the 5 of Hearts. Then the four 5s appear, and then the red and the black cards are now separated in the deck! Guaranteed impact!

Card Technique: To give the illusion that the deck is shuffled with three cuts, but it remains in its original order.

3 Chinese coins in the left hand swap one by one with 3 copper coins in the right hand; the hands are shown empty each time. To conclude, the copper coins change into 3 Chinese coins; you end by showing 6 Chinese coins, no trace of the copper coins left! With this routine, you will discover new techniques, including the power of the "Palm to Palm Change" which allows you to exchange one coin for another with only one hand, or even a group of coins as in this routine. With this routine, you will take your first steps into the restricted world of the experts!

The magician promises to make the audience live an "almost mystical" experience! Three cards are chosen freely, and lost in the deck. The magician declares that he will "hypnotically put the audience to sleep" without anyone noticing it. He then picks three cards at random from the deck, hoping that they are the chosen cards... but none of them are! The three cards are placed in front of each of the three spectators, each of them confirms that it is not his card. The magician then "frees" his audience, who was until then under his "total hypnotic power": the three "wrong" cards are turned over one by one: they are now the good ones! Guaranteed impact!

Le Double Fond opened its doors on June 1st 1988. This exceptional archive allows you to discover Dominique Duvivier and Gaetan Bloom in one of their first shows in those days; this show was split into four parts.

Spellbound is one of the great classics in coin magic. A half dollar turns into a Chinese coin and vice versa; the effect is repeated several times. Both hands look completely empty throughout the routine. Only regular coins, no gimmick. Visual and clean!

A card is freely chosen, then lost in the deck. The magician then produces the four Aces. Then, after a little "magic interlude" where the four Aces mysteriously switch place, a fifth card appears between them: it is of course the spectator's one!

The freely chosen card turns mysteriously face up in the middle of the deck in a flash. A striking trick with a big impact!

Card technique: How to control a card to a desired position from the bottom of the deck. Dominique Duvivier uses this control in a variety of ways.

This is an idea that came to me when I was watching people getting fleeced at the fair : they were pulling strings, and winning what was at the other end ; they always won some crap, and never the big prizes ! Here, everything is under control... you can win the big prize or not, but all the strings used are there... each one is really attached to a gift. I spent quite a bit of time designing this little thing full of mystery. Very cool, and you can perform it again and again...

You will enjoy this very elegant and mystifying trick which uses a coin and a silk which, for the beauty of the trick, must be transparent. You drape the silk over the palm of your left hand and place the coin on it, closing your left hand for a few seconds. Magic formula: the coin is under the silk in your palm. You do it again but this time, the coin disappears completely: it is not under the silk! Your hands are empty and the silk can be examined.

According to the legend, this trick mystified Dai Vernon, "The Professor", and subsequently devastated the magic elite! A card is chosen and lost under impossible conditions. No matter, it was not only predicted in advance by the magician, but he produced it in a mysterious way! An extraordinary trick that will give happiness to you... and to your audience!

It's like the Inexhaustible Vase, but reduced to an everyday object, with many possibilities. It's a very visual running gag. You do a trick, you wipe your forehead with a sponge, and you wring it out in a bucket... the sponge is really full of liquid. You put the sponge back down, perform another trick, and take the sponge one more time to wipe your forehead. Bingo... it's full of water again. Finally, you can take the bucket full of all this water poured, and the liquid turns into confetti! Great if you're also doing a clown act. My dear James Hodges used it for one of his shows at the Maison de la Magie in Blois, France.
